The Connection Conference & Event Center, a nonprofit organization supporting the mission of West View Healthy Living, is looking for would-be little princesses and their moms for a Mommy & Me Princess Tea on May 6.

Tea times are 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Tickets are $40 for one adult and one child, with an extra $10 for each additional child.

Activities include a tea complete with fine china and finger sandwiches, followed by formal princess training and a song and story with two Disney princesses who will be on hand throughout the day. There also will be a craft and cookie decorating, followed by the official “crowning”.

The date was chosen, according to center director Tami Mosser, for its proximity to Mothers’ Day but also to coincide with the coronation of King Charles III. “We know how much a princess fantasy appeals to little girls,” Mosser said, citing the popularity of Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Snow White.

It’s also a chance for the public to see the event center, built two years ago at the height of COVID-19. There are three event rooms, plus executive meeting space and a great hall perfect for special events.

What makes The Connection special, Mosser said, is that it exists to support the mission of West View. Revenue from the center provides funding for everything from chaplaincy services to the benevolent fund and the activities fund. The center is used for a variety of events, from corporate trainings to fundraisers, showers, parties and receptions.
