Monthlong Tournament of Books taking place during March
Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade are invited to participate in Orrville Public Library’s monthlong Tournament of Books. During the month of March, vote on the top teen books that were read in 2024. Round one will begin March 1, and there will be 16 books on the list. Each week cast your vote for the best book by writing your selection on the tickets that will be available in the young adult area. Your vote will narrow it down to the final two books the week of March 24. The winner will be announced March 31.
Track your favorite book’s progress on the displayed bracket. Stop by to look at the books on the list and check out a book or two to read before you vote.

Hold That Book
Orrville Public Library is offering a free service called Hold That Book. Library staffers have put together a brochure that lists 42 popular authors in a variety of genres. Check off which authors you are interested in and the library will do the rest. When any of your selected authors release new material, your name will automatically be placed on the holds list, and you will be notified when the book is available for you.
The brochure is available at the library or on the library website under the Adults tab, Services and Programs.
Seed Exchange
Orrville Public Library’s Seed Exchange program will run through the months of March, April and May. Both commercially packaged and saved seeds for herbs, flowers and vegetables will be accepted. If you no longer have the original packet, place your seeds in a small Ziploc bag and label it with the variety of seed, any growing notes and the year of the seed. This is self-serve, so everyone can take some seeds home, even if they have nothing to bring.
March Book Club
In 1922 Count Alexander Rostov is sentenced to lifelong house arrest in Hotel Metropol in Central Moscow. He must now live in a tiny room on a floor once reserved for servants. Over 32 years of living there, he made friends, discovered hidden rooms and spaces, and eavesdropped on many conversations. “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles is Orrville Public Library’s March Book Club selection.
Check out a copy of the book and come to the library Book Club meeting on Thursday, March 13 to share your thoughts. Choose from the 10 a.m. or the 6:30 p.m. gathering. No registration is needed.
