The Ohio Department of Transportation recently announced nearly $16 million in road improvements in Wayne County projects are scheduled to begin in 2020.

According to a map provided by ODOT, there are 10 projects throughout the county scheduled to begin next year. Of those the Village of Burbank is scheduled to receive a $6,374,491 major road rehabilitation to state Route 83. Wayne County engineer Scott Miller said receiving early notifications of the state’s planned projects is beneficial to the mission of his office so he can plan county projects around the projects being conducted by ODOT.

“ODOT has this money programmed for these projects four or five years in advance,” Miller said. “We arrange our plans around what ODOT is doing.”

Other projects and their estimated cost slated to begin next year include:

• Bridge replacement and preservation along state Route 83 between Force and Harrison roads, totaling $794,235.

• Intersection improvement at state Routes 21 and 585 near Doylestown, totaling $1,100,000.

• Minor rehab to state Route 30 near the East Lincoln Way intersection, totaling $360,000.

• Intersection improvement to state Route 30 near Dalton, totaling $644,560.
