Orrville Public Library announced its lineup of programs this August for children, teens and adults.

Children age 2-5 and their caregivers are invited to the Preschool Play Lab in the children’s department. The play lab will be available Wednesday, Aug. 6 and 20 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. No registration is required for this free event. For more information call the children’s department at 330-683-1065.

The library’s Summer Reading Program, “Color Our World,” will conclude Saturday, Aug. 9. Participants still have time to read or listen to books and earn prizes. Visit the information desk or the children’s department for more information.

Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade are invited to a tie-dye event on Friday, Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. Participants will design a pencil case for the upcoming school year. All materials will be provided. Registration started July 25 and can be completed online via the library’s calendar at www.orrville.lib.oh.us or by calling the information desk at 330-683-1065.

For those preparing for the first day of school, the Ready, Set, Kindergarten! program is designed to help new kindergartners get excited for the year ahead. Attendees will hear stories and participate in a school-themed craft. The program will be offered Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Registration will begin July 29 and is required. Sign up through the library’s website or by calling the children’s department.

The Adult Book Club’s Trendy Titles program will kick off the 2025-26 season on Aug. 14 with a showcase of upcoming fall book releases across various genres. Participants also will discuss Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” first published in 1885 and widely regarded as one of the greatest American novels. Sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., and no registration is needed.

Puzzle enthusiasts can test their skills in the Speed Puzzle Challenge on Saturday, Aug. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. Adults can form teams of two to four people and race to complete a 500-piece Ravensburger puzzle. The fastest team will win a small prize. The event is limited to five teams. Registration will begin Aug. 2 and can be completed on the library’s website calendar or by calling the information desk. One member per team should register the group. Individuals without a team also may register and will be grouped with others.

The workshop, presented in partnership with Massillon Public Library, will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the lower-level meeting room. An email address is required to create a Canva account. Registration will begin Aug. 5 and is available through the website or by calling the information desk.
