Orrville YMCA celebrating 50th anniversary all year
A kick-off gathering was held Feb. 1 at the Orrville YMCA with the unveiling of the official 50-year anniversary banner.
The Orrville YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Wayne County, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
First launched in late 1971 and officially recognized in January 1972, founders, board members, staff and volunteers are making plans to spread the celebration throughout 2022 with a variety of events for members, guests and the community.
A kick-off gathering was held Feb. 1 with the unveiling of the official 50-year anniversary banner. Attending were past and present board members, donors, supporters, staff, volunteers, and program participants.
“We anticipate a great year ahead,” said Lindsey Baumgartner, branch director. “Many people have already stepped up to help make plans for engaging the community in this special year. We want to share our gratitude for everyone who has been part of the Y experience.”
