The Holmes County Auditor’s Office announced updated property values resulting from the state-mandated 2022 reappraisal of Holmes County will be available for review by property owners beginning Sept. 12-15. Notices will be mailed the week of Sept. 5.

State law requires the county auditor to conduct an inspection of all land and buildings every six years. The purpose of this update is to adjust and equalize property values to reflect the state of the local real estate market. It also ensures the physical facts listed in the database are accurate and current.

The auditor’s office has no control over the tax rate, which is established by the voting public. Although your value will have increased, your taxes will not necessarily rise by the same percentage. The auditor’s office will not receive tax rates until late December, so at this time taxes will not be able to be determined.

The 2022 values will be available for review at the Holmes County Auditor’s Office at 75 E. Clinton St., Suite 107, Millersburg, Sept. 12-15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 2022 values also will be available online at www.holmescountyauditor.org. For additional information call the auditor’s office at 330-674-1896 or email realestatedept@co.holmes.oh.us.
