Reentry resource fair is Sept. 15
Have you recently returned from incarceration? Has it been a while, but you could still use some support and a path forward? Are you a family member or friend of someone coming back into the community? Are you counseling people just returning or with ongoing reintegration needs: housing, employment, community? Then plan to attend the Reentry and Transitional Housing Resource Fair, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 15 from 1-5 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot, 621 College Ave., Wooster.
Co-sponsored by People to People Ministries and the Wayne-Holmes Reentry Coalition, the event will feature a presentation by Clark Perry, founder of Truly Reaching You Inc. in Akron. Perry spent 10 years in prison, and Truly Reaching You is based partly on his experience. The program includes employment training in local social enterprises, local community connections, spiritual support and transitional housing.
Wooster agencies and organizations offering assistance to returning citizens will display materials and explain resources available through them. Local food trucks will offer a variety of refreshments.
The event is free.
