Registration opened Dec. 1 for the winter session of the Fit for Life program, which will be offered at the Dover Public Library by Dr. Timothy McKnight and his staff from the Trinity Hospital Twin City Medical Center.

The goal of this 12-week program is to educate, motivate and inspire people to make the lifestyle changes necessary to achieve overall wellness and lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.

McKnight will conduct the 60-minute classes every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the community room at the Dover Public Library. Participants may choose to attend in person or virtually. Lectures are released within a private Facebook page, and then the participants meet each Tuesday either in person or virtually to review the lesson and learn up-to-date information from McKnight. The course will begin Jan. 16 and run through April 2.

McKnight will address topics such as customized nutrition and fitness plans, stress management, cardiovascular fitness, food labels, flexibility and strength fitness, disease prevention, and healthy aging.

People interested in this program can register by visiting www.trinitytwincity.org. Click the Fit for Life ad on the front page. In-person registration is limited to the first 50 confirmed registrants. Virtual registrations are not limited.

The cost of the program is $100. For more information call Kelly at 330-401-5900.

Once registered, the person will receive a welcome email that includes information about how to join the private Facebook group and when the initial measurement day is. Any participant can stop by the Dover Public Library, where a staff member will assist in setting up this private Facebook account.

The Dover Public Library is located at 525 N. Walnut St. in Dover.
