H15 Farmstead buffet fundraiser is on tap for Feb. 18
As H15 Teen Center continues its ministry of connecting with area teens in many ways, the organization continues to renovate its space in downtown Millersburg while creating as many programs and fun times as possible for the teens who have been utilizing the facility.
Coming up, the public will have a chance to show its support for the work of H15 Directors Andy and Tammy Schafer and the board and its many volunteers while getting a meal for an evening of gathering as a community.
H15 will offer its annual All You Can Eat Buffet Night on Tuesday, Feb. 18 from 4-7 p.m. at Berlin Farmstead Restaurant, 4757 Township Road 366.
Patrons are asked to use the main entrance, where they will be escorted to the dining area designated for H15’s dinner event.
In addition to the all-you-can-eat buffet, there also will be a limited menu available. During the evening H15 will receive a percentage of each meal as well as all tips.
Funds from the event will be used for the general operations and current renovations taking place at H15 Teen Center.
“This event helps give us a little extra income to put toward filling in some of the gaps in the monthly budget and renovation, so we will definitely put it to good use,” Andy Schafer said. “It gives us a little breathing room, although we still always believe that God will provide.”
In addition to dining, H15 is welcoming anyone interested in helping to serve at the event. Schafer said they are looking for volunteers to help as servers, greeters or table cleaners.
“We have a lot of fun with it, and it really is pretty easy work,” Schafer said. “And, of course, we think it’s for a good cause.”
While volunteers are needed, Schafer said simply being there is a big benefit for the teen ministry. Since its inception the evening has been about more than simply eating a good meal. It also has served as a way for the board and volunteers at H15 to express their gratitude and share what has taken place and their vision for the future. Above all, Schafer said it has been a wonderful time of fellowship together.
“Even if you can’t come to help out, we hope everyone will come and support us and enjoy some great food,” he said. “We invite you to bring some friends and family and join us for the evening.”
