The Wayne County Home & Garden Show, a long-standing area tradition hosted by the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, will return to the Wayne County Fairgrounds on April 27 and 28. The area’s largest event of its kind, the show offers nearly 200 exhibitors with everything needed to revamp both home and yard.

The show will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the two-day event, attendees will find items for every project, from exterior improvements to interior redesign and lawn and garden.

“Whether you’re looking to protect the exterior of your house, redesign the interior of your home, or transform your lawn and garden, this show promises to be your one-stop shop to create the home and garden of your dreams,” explained Chamber Events Coordinator Sarah McFarland. “In addition to the exhibits, the show also features a plant sale, free children’s activities, and traditional fair food concessions.”

A committee of volunteers begins planning the upcoming year’s Home and Garden Show the fall prior, so countless hours of hard workis spent ensuring everyone who attends will enjoy themselves with something to do.

“The Chamber staff begins working behind the scenes on the event in the fall,” McFarland said. “We release the exhibitor registration for the show in December, so it is a long process of planning, coordinating, and recruiting. We have a great committee full of volunteers who are amazing at helping tomake sure the event runs smoothly. We collectively dedicate quite a bit of time to planning the exhibitor layout, communicating with all of the vendors, and coordinating the setup of the event space.”

And while parents enjoy themselves, children will have plenty to do as well.

“There will be a Children’s Garden sponsored by MCTV with crafts and activities to keep kids of all ages entertained,” said McFarland. “They will be able to plant a flower, color, complete a craft, and go on a scavenger hunt with clues that will take them all throughout the event to different vendors. Once the scavenger hunt is completed, they will be entered to win a grand prize, generously donated by Rural King.

“Our goal is to make this event fun for the whole family so parents can explore the exhibits they may be interested in while the kids also enjoy their time.”

The Apple Creek Banking Company continues its longtime support of the show this year.

Whether coming to explore products and services, attend a plant sale, keep the kids entertained with free children’s activities, or just do it all, make plans to attend the annual Home and Garden Show April 27 and 28. Admission and parking are both free at the Wayne County Fairgrounds for the event.
