Cruisin'for a Cure at Killbuck car show
Summary: Enjoy classic cars, DJ Spikeman, door prizes, silent auction, games and live music from Prism at The Killbuck Savings Banks 8th Annual Crusin for a Cure Car Show May 21. All proceeds benefit The American Cancer Society. A community garage sale will be held in the village on the same day.
The Killbuck Savings Bank Company invites you to their 8th Annual Cruisin for a Cure Car Show, May 21 from 11-4 at 165 N. Main St. at Killbuck. All proceeds from the car show will be donated to The American Cancer Society at the Relay for Life event in June.
Paula Aurand, the banks marketing director, said, In the last two years we have lost four employees to Cancer. We have been raising money for The American Cancer Society for several years but lately it has really hit home. We are very passionate about this cause and are pleased to be able to donate to it.
Registration will take place from 10a.m.-12p.m. the day of the show. The fee is $10 per car. Those wishing to pre-register can do so at the bank during regular business hours or by downloading an application from their web site at www.killbuckbank.com. The pre-registration fee is $8. The first 100 cars registered will receive a dash plaque. Judging will take place from 12-4p.m. with winners receiving a trophy.
A community garage sale will be taking place throughout the village the day of the car show. There will be a hula hoop and limbo contest for the kids, door prizes and a silent auction. Live entertainment will be provided by the band, Prism from Wayne County. Prism played for us last year and they were a big hit. said Aurand.
DJ Spikeman, the regions most sought after car show DJ will be spinning tunes from the 50s and 60s and entertaining guests throughout the event. He has been so nice and so helpful, said Aurand. We are very excited to have him at the show this year. This is his first time at the show and he is donating his time to help us.
Eric Roll, our VP at the bank, works with Daytona Trophy each year to design a new logo. He does such a wonderful job, said Aurand. T-shirts will be available for sale. This years T-shirt features a classic pick-up truck on a red background.
Food will be available for purchase. Volunteers from the bank will prepare creamed chicken sandwiches, Sloppy Joes and hot dogs. Beverages will also be available.
Crusin Times, the Midwests largest cruiser publication voted the Cruisin for a Cure Show at Killbuck one of the top ten non-profit car shows in the region.
Last year we had 200 cars participating in the show, said Aurand. We are praying for good weather so everyone can come out, enjoy the cars and entertainment and the community garage sale. All money raised will go to The American Cancer Society for cancer research.
