I want Christians everyone to catch something. No its not a fish, or a cold, but it is a greater vision of the life that God has called each of us to live. I mean, God has AMAZING plans for each of us and wants us to do AMAZING things. I dont see many Christians believing that, or else our lives would be radically different. We conform to the world. If the world tells us we can or cant do something, we submit to it. We live in the natural realm, instead of living in the supernatural realm. We need to enlarge our thinking first and believe in that before we can start seeing the supernatural taking place.
I am not saying anything to condemn anyone and God is not condemning us we if arent believing big. But I do want to light a fire in some hearts so we can live out the abundant, powerful life that Jesus purchased for us all to have.
Let me give you a few verses to prove that God wants us to believe for big things. Now this first verse is straight from the lips of Jesus. John 14:12 says, Most assuredly, I say to you; he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Ok, everyone read that one over again. You may not believe that is actually in the Bible. And this is what Jesus tells us we should be doing: the same works as Him and even greater than that. Jesus wouldnt have told us this if He wouldnt have given us the power to do it. What kind of works did Jesus do? Hmmm, lets see. He healed the sick, lame, mute, blind, raised the dead, cast out demons, and showed the love of God in truth without condemnation, just to name a few. And He says we are not only to be doing these things, but GREATER than that. How many people are believing to do the same works as Jesus, let alone greater things than that?
Ephesians 3:20 states: Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Once again, what a powerful verse proving how God wants us to believe for big things. I want you to take a moment and believe for something big, something that would just blow people away and glorify the name of Jesus. And if people would ask you how you did it, you could only reply, Its all God! God did this, not me. I only believed for it. Now as big as you can think, God can do exceedingly abundantly more than that. Isnt that mind boggling? And it is accordingly to HIS power at work within US. That power is in us if we have received Jesus as our Savior.
Here are a few more verses to get you to believe big:
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13
For with God nothing will be impossible. – Luke 1:37
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. – Luke 18:27
Look at all these things the Word of God tells us. Doesnt it make you tired of living a mediocre, standard Christian life? What is considered normal today should not be. The normal back in the day of the disciples should be our normal now. We are disciples of Jesus with the same power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead living inside of us (Ephesians 1:19-20) I want to encourage everyone to desire to receive everything Jesus died on the cross to give us. Get that spirit of fight within your heart and mind that says, I will not settle for less than Gods best for my life. I have decided that I am going to fight to receive everything that Jesus died to give me and I will not let that enemy steal it from me! And it will be a fight. It isnt a fight to get God to move, because He has already moved through His Son over two thousand years ago. It will be a fight against the world that is telling you contrary. To be continued
