Open year round from dawn to dusk, Secrest offers visitors of all ages the opportunity to forge a deep connection with nature through a unique combination of displays and special events.
Whether its the spark of inspiration for a home garden that comes from a leisurely stroll along the winding paths of the tranquil theme gardens or the sense of awe inspired by standing in a grove of the once thought to be extinct Dawn Redwood trees, for over 100 years Secrest has been the perfect place to experience the wonder of nature.
In addition to exploring the gardens and plantings on their own, visitors of all ages can also learn about the natural world by taking part in the many special events hosted by Secrest each year including Plant Discovery Day, Autumn Discovery Day, leisure birding and night insect walks, gardening workshops and the popular Whiz Bang Science Show and enjoy the visual and performing arts in a natural setting through concerts at John Streeter Garden Amphitheater and Baiwoop Art Festival.
