The United Way of Tuscarawas County will host Casino Royale on Feb. 23 at Kent State University Performing Arts Center. The fundraiser will benefit the Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured. The event, celebrating 10 years of service to the community, will be held from 6-10 p.m. with a silent and live auction, casino games, hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar.

Casino Royale tickets are $80 for a couple or $40 for each individual. All proceeds benefit the clinic, which serves Tuscarawas County residents who are employed without insurance.

The clinic is located at 420 Reeves Ave., Suite D, Dover. All tickets can be reserved by calling 330-364-1853 by Feb. 20.

As uninsured rates have climbed in the past two years nationwide, the clinic remains committed to assist the uninsured in Tuscarawas County. The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured is a nonprofit organization with a mission to improve access to health care for the working uninsured citizens age 18-64 who live in Tuscarawas County and are at or below 199 percent of the federal poverty level.

The clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers and others who believe good health can be reached and maintained through the proper balance of exercise, nutrition, medical care and education.

The goal of the clinic is to help patients obtain and maintain good health. In order to achieve this goal, the clinic offers preventative and routine services, diabetic education, hypertension education, nutritional/dietician services, medication programs, health education classes, and some specialty care and limited dentistry.

Anyone in Tuscarawas County age 18-64 who are employed but lack medical insurance can contact the clinic at 330-364-1853 to complete a medical and financial assessment to determine eligibility. Additional information can be found at the clinic’s website at www.tuscarawasclinic.org.
