Individuals enrolled in Medicaid who have CareSource, Paramount Advantage and United Healthcare as their managed care plan are now able to schedule dental appointments at Community Family Health Center in Dover. Individuals covered by Medicaid or who use the sliding-fee scale may continue to schedule appointments.

J.J. Boroski, executive director of Community Mental Healthcare, said the agency is still waiting for approval from Molina Healthcare of Ohio and Buckeye Health Plan. He explained the dentist and dental hygienist have to be approved by each insurance provider before they can see patients covered by those plans.

“It’s just part of starting a new service,” he said. “It can be frustrating because we know a lot of people in our community need dental care right now. We promise to make an announcement as soon as we are able to accept Molina and Buckeye. If you follow CMH on Facebook, you’ll know within minutes after we find out we can accept those two plans.”

Dental services include exams, fillings, extractions, X-rays, children’s dental sealants, cleaning/hygiene and referrals. Appointments for all ages can be made Monday through Friday by calling 330-365-1781. Dental services are located in the Community Family Health Center building at 204 Bellevue Ave. in Dover.
