HCGHD looking to hire community ambassador
With funding from a Creating Healthy Communities grant, the Holmes County General Health District is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the part-time contracted position of community ambassador.
The community ambassador will play a role in building and maintaining a sense of community, fostering engagement, and facilitating positive interactions between the HCGHD and Holmes County residents. The community ambassador will assist with planning, implementing and evaluating health improvement efforts and may assist in social media management and must be able to work in compliance with state and local public health laws.
Duties may include providing health and wellness information to the public, reviewing data, participating in coalition meetings pertaining to healthy eating and active living, communicating with at-risk or vulnerable populations, conducting community interviews and surveys in order to increase awareness of community concerns, and assisting in the recruiting of resident volunteers for implementation of plans.
The candidate must live in Holmes County for at least five years and have excellent communication and note-taking skills. He/she should be passionate about serving his/her community and will have excellent interpersonal skills. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
This is a part-time contracted position. The rate of pay is $20 per hour. Hours of work are flexible. The work environment will be hybrid in nature, consisting both of in-person and remote work.
