Health talk to focus on gut flora
                        

Pomerene Hospital’s upcoming Health Talk will take place at Keim Lumber in Charm on Monday, Oct. 23 from 6-7 p.m.

The talk, titled “What’s In Your Gut? Gut Flora: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” will be presented by Pomerene internal medicine physician Loren M. Kirchner.  

In this introductory talk on gut flora, Kirchner will discuss what it is, where it comes from and what it does. At this talk attendees can find out more about gut flora and how some simple nutritional and lifestyle changes can improve one’s overall health.

Kirchner received his M.D. from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his residency from NEOUCOM affiliated hospitals in Canton. He has 15 years of academic, hospital and outpatient experience in Wooster and also serves the country as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Reserve. He has been deployed on numerous occasions including four assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he supervised and provided medical and trauma care in combat support hospitals.
