Pomerene Hospital welcomes ENT specialists to Millersburg

Pomerene Hospital welcomed three ENT specialists to the area March 3. Kurt Garren, M.D., Nicholas Groch, D.O. and Melanie Pence, D.O., will see patients in the Millersburg Medical Building every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The doctors specialize in adult and pediatric ear, nose and throat disorders, chronic sinus disorders, and allergies. “Pomerene Hospital has been gracious enough to invite us into their community to practice medicine,” said Dr. Kurt Garren. “It provides our group with a tremendous opportunity to extend our patient care from Tuscarawas County to the people of Holmes County. We are extremely excited about the potential and opportunity it provides us.” An Ohio native, Dr. Garren graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Notre Dame and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University School of Medicine. His residency training includes a general surgery residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center and otolaryngology, head and neck surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is a board certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon. A native of Michigan, Dr. Groch graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, both from Michigan State University. His residency training and track internship were at Henry Ford Bi-County Hospital in Warren, Mich., and in the Michigan State University statewide campus system. He has had previous medical experience with ENT practices in Sylvania, and Coral Springs, Fla. Dr. Groch resides in Dover. He is a board certified otolaryngologist, with expertise in head and neck surgery as well as facial plastic surgery. A native of Michigan, Dr. Pence graduated with a Bachelor of Science with honors and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, both from Michigan State University. Her residency training and track internship were at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich. She has had previous medical experience with ENT practices in Sylvania, and Coral Springs, Fla. Dr. Pence resides in Dover. She is a board certified otolaryngologist, with expertise in head and neck surgery as well as facial plastic surgery.
