While the topic of health care reform is still a matter of great public debate, there is no question that self care reform is more important than ever to a growing number of people. Those who actively manage their health are interested in knowing about learning their risk factors and monitoring those risks. The next Take Charge of Your Health program from Union Hospital is geared to those who are hands-on with their health. Dr. Rimon Daoud, a family practice physician in Dover, will discuss how to identify risk factors and modify lifestyles and behaviors to lower risks. Dr. Daoud’s program will take place Thursday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m., at the Union Hospital Reeves Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public. To reserve a seat, register online at www.unionhospital.org, or call the community relations office at 330-602-0778. Pam Dummermuth, health and wellness coordinator, said Dr. Daoud will discuss the variety of free and low-cost screening tests offered in the community, and how individuals can be more in control of their own health and lower their risk factors. “We encourage everybody to practice self care reform by learning how to identify and monitor their risk factors and be healthier and happier in the new year,” Dummermuth said.
