The Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club and the New Philadelphia Rotary Club will combine efforts again to present the Fall Community Health Profile 2022 on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital with appointment times available from 6-11 a.m.

The blood-screening event covers a range of health indicators at a discounted price and is offered as part of a fundraising project to support the community programs of the two clubs.

Appointments are required for this event. Walk-ins will not be available. Appointments are accepted online and by telephone until they are completely filled.

Online appointments are available anytime by visiting the Rotary Club’s website at www.newphiladelphiarotary.com, clicking the Community Health Profile link and completing the registration form. Telephone appointments can be made by calling the hospital’s community relations department weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 330-308-3599.

The blood profile testing includes blood sugar, cholesterol (HDL, LDL, triglycerides and total cholesterol), anemia, thyroid function, liver disease and kidney disease.

The cost is $45 for the complete testing package, and for an additional $15, men age 50 and older can receive a PSA prostate screen. Payment is made to the clubs and is by cash or check only on Sept. 10. Checks should be made payable to Dover-New Philadelphia Kiwanis Club.

Union Hospital’s phlebotomy staff will draw the blood samples, and testing will be completed in the hospital’s laboratory. A printed report will be sent to the address provided by each participant, and this will include all test results, noting any result outside of the normal range for the age and gender of the individual.
