The Viola Startzman Clinic recently announced the expansion of its services to welcome everyone, regardless of insurance status. Previously known as a free clinic, VSC has evolved into a comprehensive community health center, offering affordable primary care, dental care and mental health services to all individuals and families.
“We recognized a growing need to expand our reach and provide accessible healthcare to everyone in our community,” VSC Executive Director Mark Yoder said. “By welcoming patients with private insurance, we can ensure that everyone has a place to turn for quality, affordable care, regardless of their economic situation.”
This expansion marks a significant milestone for the clinic, which was founded in 1973 by Dr. Viola Startzman, a physician who believed in the right to healthcare for all.
The Viola Startzman Clinic offers a range of services including the following:
—Primary care: Family health services for all ages, from annual checkups and vaccinations to chronic disease management.
—Dental care: Affordable dental services for the entire family including cleanings, exams, fillings and extractions.
—Mental healthcare: Individual evaluations both in person and via telehealth to support emotional well-being.
—Affordable care: The clinic continues to offer a sliding fee scale for those who qualify, ensuring cost is not a barrier to receiving quality healthcare.
