September craft
kit for teens

Teens can come into the Holmes Central Library to pick up a craft kit with supplies to make a sock plant.

Story times

For kids age 2-5 with an adult, there will be story time at the East Branch Library on Wednesdays, Sept. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. and at the Holmes Central Library on Fridays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Little learners playgroup

Kids up to age 5 with an adult will engage in activities to promote reading and social skills at the Holmes Central Library on Fridays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 11 a.m. Snacks will be provided.

Book Quest Club

Families with kids age 6-12 are invited to explore a variety of books to find their next great dragon read at the Holmes Central Library on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Make a dragon bookmark and pick a dragon name. Registration is required.

Paws to Read

Children are invited to read to a certified therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines at the Holmes Central Library on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Master carver

David Warther of David Warther Carvings will share his story as a fifth-generation carver at the Holmes Central Library on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. Registration is required.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

Stop by the children’s department to celebrate all things pirate at the Holmes Central Library on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Select a pirate name, make a pirate flag and hat, and go on a scavenger hunt.

Book discussion
for adults

The event will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24 discussing “The Swan’s Nest” by Laura McNeal at the Holmes Central Library at 1 p.m. and “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck at Jitters Coffee House in Millersburg at 6 p.m.

Family movie matinee

“Garfield” will be shown on the big screen at the Holmes Central Library on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. Bring a comfy chair or blanket, a snack and a drink. Children must be with an adult.
