Letter to the Editor:
For New Philadelphia citizens who are passionate about their school district, the 2017 election is vital. On Nov. 7, please vote for Janna Leeper and Denver Gallentine for New Philadelphia School Board.
Leeper comes from a family of educators. She has dedicated her life to supporting families and children in this community and now wants to help by building a bridge between parents, community, teachers and administrators. Her experience as a licensed social worker has provided her with all the qualities to be successful in this position.
Not only does Leeper possess the required qualities, but also she maintains the ability to listen and communicate with others effectively in an objective manner while developing real solutions to difficult problems.
Gallentine has 35 years of experience in the New Philadelphia school system; he is an expert in the education field. He served as a teacher, a principal and the head of district testing. Some of his accomplishments include being named Master Teacher by the State of Ohio and being appointed to the Ohio Appalachian Education Institute.
Gallentine has devoted his life to our community through his leadership in the education field and through volunteer efforts in both youth sports and his church.
I have experienced firsthand their leadership and know that they have what it takes to positively lead others. Both are qualified for these positions and are passionate about our community. They understand the focus of this position should be about one thing: the kids.
