Buckeye student built house to be sold at auction
The most recent Buckeye Career Center student-built Buckeye House is scheduled to be sold at public auction on June 15 at 6 p.m. This single-family home is located at 545 Corral Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
Construction on the home began in August 2019 and concluded at the end of May 2021. The 1,760-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath home features a front porch, covered back patio, two-car garage, three walk-in closets, a tray ceiling in the master bedroom, vertical farmhouse-style siding and an outdoor fire pit.
Business-partner contributions have helped make this one of the most unique and modern homes in the University Drive allotment. The design and floor plans were provided by Schlabach Builders, a metal roof was donated by NorthStar Metals, and ProVia contributed the windows for the entire house.
The following auction terms will be enforced by Barnett Realtors’ staff: A 10% nonrefundable deposit is due the day of the auction with the balance due at closing. All inspections should be completed prior to bidding at buyer’s expense. No contingencies will be added. All information from sources believed correct, but no warranties will be written, expressed or implied. All announcements the day of auction take precedence over previous advertising.
Buckeye students in construction technology, energy operations, masonry, landscaping, HVAC-R and electrical systems technology had a role in building the house. Buckeye officials say the construction project provides real-world training for students hoping to enter the construction field.
“The Buckeye House gives on-the-job experience for our students through the entire building process,” assistant principal Trent Edie said. “It’s really a great learning sample for our students.”
The home is listed by Barnett Realtors. People can view the home online at www.BarnettRealtors.com or call Barnett Realtors to schedule a viewing. Photos of the house can be viewed on the realtor’s website or on the Buckeye Career Center Facebook page.
