The Tuscarawas County Cattle Association held its annual meeting at the Dutch Valley Restaurant on Feb. 13. The meeting marked the 33rd annual banquet, and 98 were in attendance. A roast beef and chicken dinner was served.

Doyle Shoup provided the invocation. Don Himes, TCCA president, began the meeting by thanking everyone for attending. He said he was pleased by the number present, considering the past two years of the COVID pandemic, which caused the annual banquet to be canceled.

Himes said Shoup was retiring after 24 years of service. Shoup was presented a gift card by the association. Himes asked the floor for nominations for the election of officers. None were provided. The election was held by member ballots. Himes, Kriss Raber, Eric Prysi and Mark Lewis were up for renewal. Two new board nominees were Matt Graham and Kaci Himes.

The new directors for the two-year term of 2023 and 2024 are Graham, Don Himes, Lewis, Prysi and Raber. They will join Kevin Hinds, Jerry Prysi, Justin Specht, Fred Tuerler and Guy Zeigler.

Shumaker is a member of the Town & Country 4-H Club and attends New Philadelphia High School.
