Dover Public Library to host actor James Black
Actor and Dover native James Black will be speaking at the Dover Public Library on Monday, August 20, at 7 p.m. Black will be discussing his life in film and will share with guests his journey from Dover to Los Angeles. Black is a 1980 graduate of Dover High School and a 1985 graduate of the University of Akron. After college, Black played professional football for a short time with the Cleveland Browns, before embarking on his acting career.
Black has been seen in a variety of TV shows and movies, including a recurring role on the USA Network miniseries The Starter Wife, which starred Debra Messing and aired in 2007. Hes also known for his leading role as Agent Michael Hailey on the UPN/CW science-fiction drama The Burning Zone, broadcast in 1996-1997. Most recently, Black can be seen in the new FX comedy series Anger Management, starring Charlie Sheen.
