Library hosts an afternoon with author and backpacking and hiking expert Stevenson

The Dover Public Library will sponsor an afternoon program featuring Jason Stevenson, author of the newly released book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Backpacking and Hiking on Sunday, June 13, at 1 p.m., at the library. Stevenson will discuss his book and the experiences that led him to his current career as an outdoors adventure writer. He will also bring his backpacking equipment and will share his insight on proper backpacking preparation. Stevenson is a freelance magazine writer, author, and editor. He writes about survival, hiking, and the outdoors, and is the former skills editor at Backpacker Magazine. He has also written articles for Outside, Spirit, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, and Runner’s World. A book signing and refreshments will follow the program.
