The Dover Public Library will host a program titled "The Menches Brothers: Inventors of the Hamburger" on Tuesday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the library's community room.

Ohioans Frank and Charles Menches created the hamburger, the waffle ice cream cone and Cracker Jacks, beginning in the 1880s. Today their restaurants located in Northeast Ohio pay tribute to their culinary heritage.

"The Menches brothers' story is truly amazing," said Paula Fawcett, adult services manager. "Their influence on the fun foods we eat today and their connection to our area make it a story worth talking about."

The program will be presented by John Menches, grandson of the founders.

Call the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123 to register for this free community event.
