Ellen Massie obituary

                        
Ellen Elizabeth Massie of Walnut Hills Nursing Home, formerly of Nashville, died Jan. 26, 2010. Ellen was born Feb. 5, 1919, south of Clark in Coshocton County, to Dora C. and Nellie Miley. She graduated from Clark High School and Bethesda School of Nursing and was a registered nurse who practiced her profession for more than 40 years, working at both Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, and the former Kettering Hospital, Loudonville. She was a member of Nashville United Methodist Church, where she taught the primary class for many years. Surviving are nieces, Carol Miley (William) Kallberg of Winesburg and Nancy Miley (Ned) Billings of Waverly; nephews, Ed Miley of Boulder, Colo., and George Karr of Coshocton; sisters-in-law, Naomi Miley of Wooster and Ruth Beinbrech of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and many great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Massie, whom she married in 1943; brothers, Elmer, John, George, Ralph, and Harold Miley; sister, Irma Miley Karr; and nephew, David Miley. Services will be held Jan. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Nashville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jason Strong officiating. Burial will be in Nashville United Methodist Cemetery. Calling hours will be Jan. 29, from 4-7 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, and an hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to Nashville United Methodist Church.
