Marie Thresa Dunn, a longtime resident of Uhrichsville, died Feb. 25, 2010, at Twin City Hospital, Dennison, following a lengthy illness. Marie was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Randolph and Charlotte Lopenski. She was a graduate of Smithville High School, a member of First Christian Church, Uhrichsville, and had worked for several area businesses over the years. She was a great animal lover who enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds that frequented her backyard and was especially devoted to her many cats whom she loved dearly. She is survived by a number of cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman G. Dunn, whom she married in 1952; and an aunt, Lena J. Gendice. Services were held Feb. 28, 2010, at R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home, Dennison, with Rev. Dr. Larry Miracle officiating. Interment was beside her husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Marie’s memory by a charitable contribution may do so to Uhrichsville First Christian Church.
