Marvin Davis of Goshen was recently inducted into the Dover-New Philadelphia USBC Hall of Fame at the annual banquet held May 5. Davis has bowled since 1973.

He bowled on many teams throughout the years including Marvin’s Misfits and teams from Lauren Manufacturing.

Among some of his accomplishments, he has averaged 200 or higher, has bowled over 20 strikes in a row several times, and has participated in many state and national tournaments.

Some of his other accomplishments were 2008-09 league champions in the McInturf Realty three-man league, the Marvin’s Misfits team was runner-up in the five-man league at Boulevard Lanes 2012-13 and 2013-14, league champions in the McInturf Realty three-man league 2016-17, and the Marvin’s Misfits team was runner-up at Boulevard Lanes 2017-18.

Davis has bowled numerous 300 games and has bowled seven 700 series games.

Some of the other highlights include bowling alongside the pros and top amateurs in several PBA Pro Am tournaments and at the USBC/ABC U.S. Open, state and inter-city tournaments, and the Pittsburgh Bowlers Tour.

Davis has helping many bowlers with ball choice, surface choice and ball layout and helped for many years coaching the youth league at the former Alpa Lanes.
