Locals earn All-Ohio honors in volleyball, soccer
After working through a mid-season injury, West Holmes’ Charli Murphy returned to perform well enough to earn All-Ohio honors.
The All-Ohio volleyball and boys and girls soccer teams were recently announced, and five local athletes were named to the teams.
Volleyball
Garaway senior Morgan Schlabach earned first-team honors in Division VI. The outside hitter averaged 6.0 kills, 3.9 digs and 0.6 aces per set.
Boys soccer
Hiland seniors Zeke Bodiker and Logan Hershberger were named to the team in Div. V.
Bodiker, a midfielder, ended the season with 23 goals and 13 assists. He finished his career with the most goals (61) and assists (44) in program history.
Hershberger, a forward, finished the season with a school-record 30 goals and 14 assists. He ended his career with the second-most goals (58) and fourth-most assists (33) in program history.
Girls soccer
West Holmes sophomore Charli Murphy was selected to the team in Div. IV while Hiland senior Kailyn Miller was named to the team in Div. V.
Murphy, a forward, finished the season with 22 goals and five assists.
Miller, a forward, ended the season with 14 goals and 11 assists.
