Big victory for a Large man from Millersburg
The winner’s circle at Hilltop Speedway continued to be familiar territory for Terry Adkins of Killbuck, however, as the all-time winningest Mini Stocks driver in track history went flag-to-flag to pick up his fifth win of the season in the Guerne Heights Drive-In Mini Stocks feature, recovering the lead after being passed by Steve Miller early on, thanks to a caution flag that came out before they got back to the line.
There were two cautions before the first lap of the Tri-State Modifieds feature could even be completed, as Larry Kugel finally jumped out to the early lead, before getting passed after lap five by Kevin Morehouse, who stayed out in front until crossing the finish line, to pick up his fifth win of the season.
Rocky Owens won his heat and went green-to-checkered in the Holmes Tire Late Model feature and the youngster, Donovan Dickerson, did the same in the Mini Wedge division, pulling into the winner’s circle for the second time in 2011.
It will be a big night for Large and company on Saturday, July 16, as the Atom’s Pest Control trucks will be featured, when they race to put $500 in the bed of their trucks.
