Wooster High athletes make college commitments
The Wooster High School Athletic Department held a National Signing Day event on Feb. 7 to recognize senior student-athletes who have committed to continue playing their sport at the next level.
Caleb Kostohryz will continue his academic and swim careers at Wittenberg University. Kostohryz is a district qualifier and four-year letterwinner, plus NEAC All-Star. He was a member of Wooster’s 2022, 2023 and 2024 OCC champion teams and 2023 and 2024 NEAC champion teams. He also is a member of the school’s track team and student-athlete leadership team.
Natalie Gibson will continue her academic and lacrosse careers at Malone University. Gibson is a two-year letterwinner in lacrosse and also is a member of Wooster’s girls soccer and wheelchair basketball teams, as well as the student-athlete leadership team.
Amber Street will continue her academic and lacrosse careers at Capital University. Street is a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and has been nominated for the Great Lakes National Lacrosse Team. She also has been a member of Wooster’s cheerleading program and is a member of the student-athlete leadership team.
Emily Williams will continue her academic and lacrosse careers at Otterbein University. Williams is a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse, plays for Ohio Premiere Travel Lacrosse in the offseason and is a member of Wooster’s student-athlete leadership team.
Cooper Laughlin will continue his academic and lacrosse careers at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Laughlin is a four-year varsity starter in lacrosse and a two-year captain, All-Region honoree his sophomore and junior years, and All-Ohioan his junior year. He also is a member of Wooster’s boys golf team and student-athlete leadership team.
Anthony Sines will continue his academic and football careers at Allegheny College. Sines is a two-time All-OCC honoree in football and three-year varsity letterwinner. He also is a member of the WHS boys basketball team, track team and student-athlete leadership team.
