The Wayne Center for the Arts will host violinist Chad Hoopes, left, and pianist Wu Qian in concert on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the WCA, 237 S. Walnut St., Wooster.

                        

The Wayne Center for the Arts and ESQYRE will have violinist Chad Hoopes and pianist Wu Qian in concert on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Wayne Center for the Arts, 237 S. Walnut St., Wooster.

Hoopes has graced the stages of leading orchestras worldwide since winning first prize at the Young Artists Division of the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. Hoopes, a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, has performed with ensembles such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris and the San Francisco Symphony.

Joining Hoopes is Qian, an accomplished pianist who has performed at esteemed venues. A founding member of the award-winning Sitkovetsky Trio, Qian’s artistry continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

The program will feature Mozart’s “Sonata No. 27 in G Major, K. 379;” Franck’s “Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano;” and selected short pieces.
