Voicing concerns about grade banding system

Recently, I attended a community event sponsored by the League of Women Voters. I heard all about the property tax levy and bond issues, construction costs, and consolidation of schools by grade levels, aka “grade banding.”
I heard very little about what would be best for the children. According to the grade banding system, children would spend their entire childhood and most of their waking hours only in the company of children in their same grade and of their own age — no younger ones to look out for, no older ones to look up to.
So very sad. What a shock life after graduation will be.
