Troyer has won the Ohio Auctioneers Senior Division Champion
Local auctioneer and real estate professional Eli Troyer won the title of 2018 Ohio Auctioneers Senior Division Champion at the Ohio Auctioneers Championship in Columbus Jan. 12-14. The competition was part of the Ohio Auctioneers Association annual conference.
“I am truly honored and humbled to have earned this award,” Troyer said. “This competition draws auctioneers from all over the state, all of whom are extremely talented at what they do. The five finalists in the competition are great auctioneers and even better friends. I look forward to serving and representing this Ohio Auctioneers Association and the auction industry in the years to come.”
As a full-time auctioneer and real estate agent for Kaufman Realty & Auctions, Troyer sells residential, commercial, agricultural and recreational real estate and is licensed in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He works out of the Sugarcreek office of Kaufman Realty & Auctions. He also is an auctioneer/manager for Air Works Consignment Auction Ltd., managing the antiques and collectibles and liquidation divisions of the auction.
Troyer graduated from the Ohio Auction School in 2013. His auctioneer experience includes equipment, livestock, automobile, antique, estate and business liquidation. Previous awards include 2016 Ohio Junior Division Champion, 2017 Michigan Bid Calling Champion, 2017 Midwest Auctioneers Roundup Champion and 2017 IAC Finalist.
While Troyer is a first-generation auctioneer, he is the third generation in his family to be involved in the auction business. Troyer’s father Reuben founded Air Works Consignment Auction Ltd. in 1989, and Troyer began helping his father with the auction at a young age. The auction has steadily grown over the years, currently attracting approximately 1,000 sellers and more than 6,000 buyers from around the country.
“Some of my fondest auction memories come from that event,” Troyer said. He also attributes his love for the auction business to his grandfather, who worked at the local sale barn and numerous auctions throughout the community for more than 50 years.
In addition to being a member of the OAA, Troyer is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, Michigan Auctioneers Association and the West Virginia Auctioneers Association.
Troyer lives in Dundee with his wife Roxanne and son. While not auctioneering, you’ll find him actively engaged in church ministry, outdoor activities and time with his family. Troyer can be reached at 330-317-9259.
Upcoming Air Works Consignment auctions are Feb. 15-17 and Sept. 21-22. Both events include the Mt. Hope Showcase, a large equipment and tool expo.
