Union Hospital and emergency physicians agree on contract renewal
Union Hospital in Dover and EmergiMed Inc. of Dover have agreed to terms for a three-year contract renewal for physician coverage of the hospitals Emergency Center. The agreement in principle was announced by Bruce James, Union Hospital president and CEO, and Jeffrey Cameron, MD of Dover, president of EmergiMed.
EmergiMed physicians have provided emergency medical care at Union Hospital since 1990, according to Cameron.
I am pleased that the EmergiMed group of medical providers will continue to serve the residents of our community, working in our exciting new Union Hospital Lauren Emergency Center, Cameron said.
The EmergiMed provider staff includes 22 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Many of the physicians have been working in the Union Hospital ER for more than 20 years.
We value the skill and compassion of the Emergimed staff who care for more than 45,000 patients a year in our Emergency Center, James said. They are not only dedicated professionals here at the hospital, but they have become integral parts of the larger community we serve.
