Healing memories: A service of Christmas hope

The Twin Cities Ministerial Association and Community Hospice are sponsoring a service of Christmas healing and hope Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., at the Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church on the corner of Dawson and Third streets in Uhrichsville. The Christmas season is presented as a time full of joy, cheer, celebrations, and family gatherings. For those who have lost loved ones, the holiday season can intensify feelings of loss and grief, making them feel out of place and even more miserable or lonely. This yearly service is open to everyone who has experienced a loss, to come together as a community to support each other and share grief and past joys of remembrance. A loss of one is a loss to all. Send a file card with the name of the loved one to be remembered and two sentences or less of heartfelt thoughts, either about the loved one or that you would like to say to the loved one, to: Uhrichsville First United Methodist Church, 225 N. Dawson St., P.O. Box 426, Uhrichsville 44683. These thoughts will be projected during the service and shared with the whole community. Cards may also be given to your pastor but the cards are needed by Dec. 14 to prepare. It is hoped that participants will find peace in this service and comfort in knowing they are not alone.
