Art guild hosts show and tell

Ashlee Wadley of Bolivar shared her first attempt to draw something made out of glass with members of the Tuscarawas County Art Guild at a recent meeting.

                        

Tuscarawas County Art Guild members met at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts in New Philadelphia. The meeting included a show and tell program session with members sharing their recent art projects.

Connie Wahl of Dover shared the glass bead angel she created. Bolivar resident Ashlee Wadley shared her first attempt at drawing a glass bottle. New Philadelphia resident Joe Willis shared a black and white floral pencil drawing, and Sally Baker of Dover shared a pastel portrait of her granddaughter. Guild President Bill Koch of Dennison displayed his first water color painting, which he did 45 years ago. 

Plans were discussed for the guild’s display at Stark State College in Canton. The opening reception will be Feb. 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. The exhibit will remain at the gallery for one month.

A possible spring art show at New Towne Mall was discussed along with hosting one or two day art seminars.

The Tuscarawas County Art Guild is open to all visual artists and photographers of any skill level working in any medium. Meetings are on the third Tuesday of every month, except December.
