Brandon Korns, of Dover, earned the rank of Eagle Scout Dec. 12, 2012. Brandon is a member of his Eagle Scout class during the 100th anniversary of the Eagle Scout Award, with Troop 94 at the Dover First United Methodist church. He was guided by Scoutmaster Sean Edie. Brandon designed and built eight bunk beds for Belcher Cabin at Camp Tuscazoar with the help of scouts, family and friends. Tuscazoar needed a compact design but in compliance with the building code to maximize the occupancy of the cabin. With the help of a few skilled carpenters, Brandon completed the project in less than a month’s time. Brandon is the son of Russ and Amy Korns and is a senior at Dover High School. Brandon has lettered in soccer and is a member of the National Honor Society. Brandon is a member of the Dover First Moravian Church, a member of the Journey youth group and a cabinet member on the Regional Youth Council of the Moravian Eastern District. Brandon attended the National Youth Leadership conference as both a participant and staff member. Brandon is also a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and a fifth-year pipestone holder. Brandon plans to attend The University of Akron and major in electrical engineering in the fall.
