Grimsley has captive audience

Folks passing by the Wooster Inn, around noon on Oct. 1, might have been surprised to see Carolyn Sheron’s faked look of alarm as she posed with a special guest, Jenny Grimsley, who flashed her federal credential, just prior to the Wayne County Women’s Network Lunch with a Notable Woman. Grimsley showed her sense of humor prior to sharing about her career and life experiences as a federal investigator. As a French major living in Southern California, Grimsley wanted to find interesting, language-related work when she graduated from college. When she found out the U.S. military had a language school, she aced the entrance exam, and signed up as a German translator for Military Intelligence, serving her country in Southern Germany. Her post-military employment has included technical writing and investigative-based work, including working for Children Services. Two separate, but major, earthquakes that hit too close to home sent her and her family looking for shelter with friends in Ohio, where she now works as a federal investigator and carries (up to) four credentials to perform background checks on behalf of the federal government. She’s also in the process of writing a children’s book, and gets amusing ideas from her three children (who share her sense of humor). Each month Women’s Network hosts Lunch with a Notable Woman at the Wooster Inn. On Nov. 5, attorney Cheryl Kirkbride, from Kropf & Wagner, will share about her career and life. To share lunch with Cheryl and network with other professional women, call Kathi Bond at 330-683-3375 for reservations.
