Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club news

                        
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met from 9 a.m. to noon at the Holmes County Rails to Trails Depot for an ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) walk for advisor Larry Lang. The club met again at 3 p.m. for a fishing derby at the Dennis and Pam Gardner residence. A cookout was then enjoyed by those in attendance. Fishing awards were: smallest fish, Cheyenne Mackey; largest fish, Ian Gilt; most fish, Austin Johnson; most unique, Clay Armstrong; first fish caught, Tiffany Johnson; youngest male fisherman, Brent Burgett; caught something, Bryce Burgett, Michael Martin; participants, Nathan Shaffer, Cory Phillips, Brittany Rodriques, Jason Martin. All members received hats and Shooting Sports pins for 4-H project completion. Awards were given to Dennis and Pam Gardner, Dan and Jenny Burgett, Bob and Victoria Mackey, and David Grady. Officer’s pins presented were: Shane Gardner, president; Wyatt Gardner, vice president; Taylor Neuenschwander, secretary; Wyatt Gardner, treasurer; Tanner Neuenschwander, news reporter; Bryce Burgett, safety officer; Cody Mackey, safety assistant; Ian Gilt, health officer; Cody Mackey, health assistant; Clay Armstrong, recreation officer; and Matt Gardner, recreation assistant. The next meeting will be Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Eastern Holmes Sportsmen Club, from 9 a.m. until noon, with a lunch for all in attendance and trash pick-up on TR 310, one of the club’s community service projects through the Adopt-A-Road program.
