Holmes Shooting Sports 4-H club holds meeting
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met Saturday, June 10 from noon to 2 p.m. at The Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
The meeting was called to order by President Jimmy Britt. The United States Pledge was led by Zander Croskey, and the 4-H Flag Pledge was led by Braxton Touby.
The secretary’s report was given by Laina Croskey and the treasurer’s report by Zander Croskey.
Sgt. Brian Bernhart with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit will be asked to the next meeting on Saturday, July 8. Club members are to bring project books to the next meeting and be able to give a brief description of their project. Administrative fees are to be paid to OSU Extension.
Club members will form committees at the next meeting for the Aug. 5 fundraiser at TSC to support a community service organization and for fair booth setup.
Community service projects were discussed: packing book bags for elementary students and thank-you bags for military veterans with the help of the CSB mini-grant program and a bake sale with hot dogs, chips and drinks, by donation, to help a community service organization.
Members were encouraged to bring project books and displays to share with others.
Refreshments were furnished by Cheyanne Mackey. For the July 8 meeting, they will be furnished by Zander Croskey.
Health Officer Gabriella Sparr presented Make Sure to Wash Hands After Handling Ammunition and Firearms.
Braxton Touby presented Clean Firearms After Each Use.
Safety officer Camden Tennant presented Only Carry Ammunition for the Firearm You Are Using That Day.
Club members participated in rifle, shotgun and archery disciplines while rubber band shooters were enjoyed by visitors.
