TWC’s Nature Photo Club free program open to all
The Wilderness Center Nature Photo Club will host a free program on Hocking Hills photography at the club meeting on Saturday, Oct. 22. This program will be presented by Ohioan Don Holycross, who grew up near Bellefontaine in Logan County.
After earning a master’s degree from the Ohio State University, he spent 22 years in public administration. Now retired, he resides in Logan in Southeast Ohio. He specializes in photographs of Hocking Hills but also enjoys other landscapes, nightscapes, sunsets, waterfalls and macro images of flowers.
Holycross’ presentation will focus on his use of high dynamic range photography, using up to seven exposures to create a single image. He will show how using HDR helps to extract and preserve details in both the shadows and highlights of a photographic image. He will delve into his use of various computer programs for post processing including dehazing, tone curves, brightness, contrast and sharpening.
The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m. at The Wilderness Center, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, Wilmot. This program is free and open to the public. Visit www.twcnpc.com.
