BCC releases 360-degree virtual tour

A 360-degree virtual tour can be found on the career center’s website at www.BuckeyeCareerCenter.org. Visitors should click on the blue Virtual Tour box in the top-right corner. The link also will be published on social media.
BCC contracted with OnScene Productions of Columbus to create the walk-through tour to allow inside access to what each of BCC’s over 30 career-technical labs have to offer. Typically, students have several opportunities to visit BCC in person, but due to COVID-19, these chances have been limited this school year.
When beginning the tour, viewers will see a short commercial, followed by an image of the front of the building. They can then pick to walk through the building or select individual labs to visit.
Once inside a lab, viewers have the opportunity to watch a video featuring a current student, read an alumni testimonial, learn about the main points of the lab, review the available credentials and certifications, and watch a lab commercial. These points can be found by clicking “inside the lab” or by navigating through the space using the 360 icon buttons.
According to BCC public relations coordinator Shyanne Carroll, the virtual tour is just one more tool to help potential students explore the career center. “We are so used to being able to meet with the students in person in the fall prior to having them in for sophomore visits and our fall open house. We weren’t able to do those events the way we normally would, so we were looking for something new and innovative to capture the attention of our area sophomores,” she said.
Several other career centers across Ohio also have contracted with OnScene for similar productions.
“We have worked with this company in previous years, so we were elated when we found out they were offering such a creative way to showcase career centers,” Carroll said. “We encourage sophomores to really think about what lab might be the best fit for their individual needs. Sit down with your parents and go through the tour to really dig into BCC as you prepare for your junior and senior years of high school.”
