Over the past several weeks, numerous Buckeye Career Center FFA members have placed at area competitions.

Highlighting the accomplishments are Josh Breedlove (senior/Carrollton) and Cedric Rummell (junior/Indian Valley) for placing first in the state at the Ohio Ag Power Diagnostics contest on Thursday, March 1. The competition was held at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Both students received a $10,000 scholarship to UNOH.

Three FFA members were notified this month that they have achieved their State FFA Degrees. These students include Britney Wayts (Carrollton), Ashley Smitley (Indian Valley) and Lexi Raber (Hiland). To achieve this honor, students must be reviewed as one of the top members of the state FFA association. They must complete an application and meet all requirements as listed in the official FFA manual.

The FFA Wildlife Management team also claimed a team first place for the region and overall while competing at the 2018 Southeast Invitational Wildlife Management competition on Friday, March 9.

Students received the following individual results: Gavin Mullen (Strasburg) was first in district and first overall, Hunter McKim (Claymont) was second in district and third overall, Seth Schuman (Tuscarawas Valley) was third in district and fifth overall, and Jeff Garabrandt (Ohio Connections Academy) was fourth in district and eighth overall.
