Senior citizens learn about tour company, Nov. 30

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, seniors gathered at The Pier near Mt. Eaton to hear Mary Beachy tell about her life and her tour company, Swiss Valley Tours. Beachy explained how her dream of traveling as a young girl led her to pursue the tour company while she was working at a restaurant, and she shared many stories of her travels. The audience enjoyed laughing at the humorous stories that she shared and enjoyed hearing about the way she has had to be resourceful when plans suddenly changed. There are currently several tours planned that the seniors were invited to participate in. Following the speaker, a Thanksgiving meal was served. The meal included turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberry salad and dessert. Mountain Top Restaurant in Mt. Eaton prepared the meal. Something for Seniors is scheduled for the last Tuesday of each month, September-April, except December. The next program is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. Jim and Cher, a duo that sings and plays music throughout Ohio and neighboring states, will present the program.
