Early voting for the Nov. 7 election is in progress.

                        

Absentee voting is now in progress in Holmes County for the Nov. 7 general election.

To vote by mail, voters must apply for an absent ballot in writing using the application Form 11-A prescribed by the Ohio Secretary of State. The form is available at www.voteohio.gov or at the Holmes County Board of Elections office.

Applications to vote by mail must be received no later than Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Early voting in the board of elections office requires current photo identification. Current photo identification includes a driver’s license, state ID card or interim ID form issued by the Ohio BMV; a U.S. passport or passport card; or a U.S. military ID card, Ohio National Guard ID card or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card. Any person age 17 and over who applies for and receives a state ID card from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles may receive it for free.

Early voting hours for the election are as follows:

—Oct. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

—Oct. 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

—Nov. 1-3 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

—Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

—Nov. 5 from 1-5 p.m.

There will be no early voting hours on Monday, Nov. 6.

The 004 Hardy Township precinct polling location has been moved to the Holmes County Catholic Center, 379 S. Crawford St., Millersburg. The center is located behind the church. On election day, Tuesday, Nov. 7, the polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Photo identification is required.
