Military veterans having access to hearing aids is a cause close to Craig Rowland’s heart.

Rowland, a hearing instrument specialist who is the owner of Premier Hearing Center in Millersburg, is a veteran himself and suffered hearing loss while serving in Vietnam in 1968.

That’s why he partnered with Sonic Innovations to create the Veteran to Veteran Hearing Aid Program for veterans who are in need of hearing aids and can’t get them through the national Veterans Administration.

All honorably discharged veterans from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard, including their spouses and children, are eligible for the program.

“All they need is a DD214 of an honorable discharge and schedule an appointment and say I’m a vet and have my DD214,” Rowland said. “We test them (to see if they have hearing loss) and show them what’s available, and within about three days they have hearing aids. I wear hearing aids, so I know what veterans are going through.”

Veterans can save up to 70% off advanced digital hearing aids through the program, which began in 2014.

“It’s a great program, and it’s a great hearing aid,” Rowland said. “I wear this same hearing aid. … I found the quality of this hearing aid is comparable to some of the higher-priced ones.”

To schedule a no-obligation appointment at Premier Hearing Center, call 330-674-4327 and mention promo code “veteran.”
